The Notorious Sex Diva: Heather Hunter
by Gene Geter

The steamiest sex scenes ever captured on adult films have to go to Heather Hunter. She has done things with her body only a gymnast could handle. She's also one of the most popular adult film stars of the 20th century as well as the most popular black adult film star in the world.

She has been in the adult film industry for an ironic thirteen years, but let's call them her lucky 13. Films such as "The Look 2000," "Heather Hunted," "Torch" and "Performance" are now things of the past. She has moved from adult films to pursue more of her creative talents.

Currently, Heather could be seen hosting a sexy/music video show on pay-per-view called "The Peep Show." As always, Heather has been a friendly, genuine spirit. Still, her undeniable beauty (including her signature long and curly black hair) and open sexuality disgust some people and yet, wow others, male and female. The choices she made in her life are surprisingly, respected by many.

In this rare interview, Heather talks about the adult film industry, bisexuality and motherhood.

Heather Hunter

Gene: Is Heather Hunter your real name?

Heather: Yeah, Heather Keisha Hunter. It has that Lois Lane sound.

Gene: I understand you stop doing adult movies, but I'm curious about how you got started. The beginnings basically.

Heather: Okay, I use to work at Latin Quarters in New York. Around that time, I was still dancing and stripping. I was approached by this girl named Hyapatia Lee (an adult film star) and suggested I think about doing films. At that time, you're eighteen years old and there's really no sexual taboo within exploring your sexuality. I did my first film (which was taped on her eighteenth birthday) and it was incredible. (Laughs) I had a great time. The sex came so natural. The only thing that made me nervous was the dialogue. I had no clue about how to act.

Gene: That first movie was named after you.

Heather: It was called "Heather."

Gene: If you could look back, what would be your best and worst film?

Heather: I would say my worst, wow, hmmm...

Gene: It was called "Wow"?

Heather: (Laughs) No.

Gene: It could've been.

Heather: Wow...my worst, when I was in Hawaii shooting a movie, "Hawaiian Blast." I fell in the lake under strong, water currents. I had a cut on my knee while I was doing one of my sex scenes with a bandage. (Laughs) My best, I would have to say, "Torch." It was actually a true story about my life, my sexual life.

Gene: Have you seen all your movies?

Heather: Everyone. I get them as soon as they hit the press. I go home and screen it like a screening. (Laughs) I have some on DVD.

Gene: What do you think people's perceptions are of you? Also, what is it that people miss about you?

Heather: Those are really good questions. I get respect because I'm a nice person, but they are always looking at me like I can't even explain. They're admiring me. Not of what I do, but not having any inhibitions. My cards are basically on the table. That's a shock value in itself. And you can't judge anyone unless you walk in their shoes.

Gene: Now in your movies, were you actually having orgasms?

Heather Hunter Heather: Out of all my movies, you do two and a half scenes, I got off at least once in every movie. Because I'm a very sensitive person. And my imagination is wild as well. A man can't make you have an orgasm. It's all in the woman's mind. All the things men bring to the table is extra benefits. I know a lot of women who can't have an orgasm. They're waiting for the man. You can't wait for the man. You have to stimulate your own brain creatively and then, it will happen.

Gene: Do you prefer men or women?

Heather: I'm bisexual. I was born bisexual. I prefer men. I love women. It's intercepted in any relationship. If not, then I can't be me.

Gene: I know women don't like being asked their age, but how old are you?

Heather: 29 and I tell the truth. (Heather was born in South Bronx, New York on October 1, 1969)

Gene: So why did you retire from the adult industry?

Heather: Because the industry has changed, a new generation. Generation X. I love the legendary crowd of the early 90s. It's all action-adventure porn now. (Laughs)

Gene: You never thought about directing adult films?

Heather: No, I don't want to be responsible for anyone catching AIDS. I don't want that on my conscience for the rest of my life.

Gene: I understand you have an album coming out? (Her noted music attempt was an Island Records single, "I Want It All Night Long")

Heather: It will be out in Europe soon. It's house taking on hip-hop. (The album is still untitled, but the first single, "Toot Toot Beep Beep") I'm just working on stuff. I'm working on an upcoming art show for New York City. Pop art, abstract, graffiti work, uniqueness.

Gene: Is it true that you're putting together a book of children stories? Under an alias name?

Heather: No, but that's a good idea though.

Gene: Do you want to talk about the rumor that you infected Magic Johnson with AIDS?

Heather Hunter 02.jpg (54589 bytes) Heather: Yes, crazy rumor of my life. I know Magic and I met him one time prior to the rumor. It put a damper on my life. I never slept with him, but I did have an affair with Kareem Abdul-Jabar. And that's probably how it got started. The proof is in the pudding. I'm still bouncing around, doing my thing. And I get tested every three months. I figure from this point on, any rumor can't top that one. (Laughs) Thank God the biggest one is out the way.

Gene: Here's a fantasy question for you. If you could do one more adult film with your dream star, who would it be?

Heather: Porn star wise or from the mainstream?

Gene: It could be anybody, but let's say from the mainstream.

Heather: (Laughs devilishly) Well, can I say a male and a female?

Gene: Sure.

Heather: Halle Berry.

Gene: Really?

Heather: And Larenz Tate. That's my fantasy mainstream.

Gene: Are you planning to be a mother one day?

Heather: Oh yeah.

Gene: How would you address your adult film career to your son or daughter?

Heather: The greatest thing with children is honesty. Whether they accept my lifestyle is more in making them understand. I will approach the subject early. Children are growing fast these days and their mindset is incredible. You have to take them on full force. Every motion you go by step by step I think the child should go by.

Gene: If you could go back over your life, would you still have been in the adult industry?

Heather: I wouldn't be where I'm at now (if it wasn't for the adult industry) and I'm extremely happy. I'm so at peace, it's disgusting.

Gene: I think you should run for president.

Heather: (Laughs and laughs) Oh, that's funny.

Gene: You'd have a lot of votes.

Heather: But right now, I just want to write a book. I don't want to write my life story, just life experiences.

Gene: Well, it was good talking to you.

Heather: You too.

Gene: Bye! Just Kidding.

Heather: That's cold. (Laughs)
