Which brings me to a common question that Dave and I get asked frequently: why you guys? We choose to ignore the obvious insinuation that two guys like us have no right to wander amongst the world of the beautiful and lusty. The irony in it all is that Dave and I are no different from all the other fans of adult. We are first and foremost fans. Here’s the part that doesn’t seem to sit well with many other jealous fans: for the most part, we just lucked into our "jobs". Allow me to explain.


A Brief History:
Sherman, set the Wayback Machine for September 1982. I met Dave Michaels back on the first day of my sophomore year of high school in a social studies course. As goof-offs often do, Dave and I ended up sitting next to each other in a back corner of the classroom. While I tended to run my mouth constantly, Dave sat silently, taking in the conversations. That is until the topic switched to sex and, more specifically, porno movies.

Although a little shy of the legal age to view such movies, Dave was already an expert in the field of porn. He would come to life and animatedly tell us stories about the latest X-rated movie that he had seen and who was the newest, greatest starlet to come along. It was only natural that we nicknamed him Porno Dave, an appellation that has followed him ever since.

A few years later, Dave and I were at a friend s bachelor party, when someone pops in a video to entertain the revelers until the strippers arrived. Midway through a scene, Dave walks into the room and looks at the screen, and although the camera was in a tight close up on genitalia, Dave announces "Hey, it s Ron Jeremy!" I asked him how he knew that without seeing anything more than a set of testicles and before he can answer, the camera pulls back to reveal the owner of the nutsack: Ron Jeremy! It immediately came to me that Dave had a talent.

For a number of years we joked about writing a book on the industry, doing a radio show, or anything that we could think of about the adult industry that hadn' t been done to death. All the while, we began to attend the many conventions that had representatives from the world of adult. To document our little forays for our friends back home, we brought along our home camcorders to shoot the action. After a few trips, we got to meet some of the performers in the industry (including he of the distinctive scrotum, Ron Jeremy).
It was while enroute to one of these conventions that we started joking around that we should do a TV show like Entertainment Tonight, except only focus on the world of XXX. We continued to joke about it the entire trip, but the more we thought about it, the more we thought that it might not be a bad idea after all.

Jenna Jameson

After figuring out that we had the equipment needed to shoot a small show for local cable access, we knew that all we needed was the participation of some adult stars willing to take time out to help some unproven guys like ourselves. Thankfully, we found some wonderful people who were able to envision what we were trying to do. For this, we will forever be thankful to our original guests (Tyffany Million, Valeria, Bill Margold, Alicia Rio, Kimberly Chambers, among others).

Although small, the show (which we named Talking Blue in reference to the fact that is was a talk show about "blue" movies, an old term for stag films) was an immediate success and has continued to grow over the years.

Having proved that we were not out to make the industry look bad, we were taken into the fold by many of the people that we were (and still are) fans of for many years. Along the way, we have interviewed over a hundred different stars of adult and attended many functions that were previously off-limits to fans. We have even brought onboard a number of the biggest names in adult films as guest reporters, including Brittany Andrews, Lisa Ann, Jenna Jameson, Alicia Rio, Tori Welles, Bill Margold, Crystal Gold and Jasmin St. Clair.

Mimi Miyagi

In that our show was only going to be available in our local area, our next hurdle was trying to hook up with an Internet webmaster that we felt went along with our views of the adult industry. Again luck was on our side, as soon after, we met Mimi Miyagi, one of the most popular and respected actresses in the adult industry.

I know I speak for both Dave and I when I say that we are very proud of this internet venture and feel honored to be a part of this great team that brings it to you. We hope to continue to bring you an inside view of the industry from a fan's perspective. Current Filmworks: Brittany currently produces a weekly segment on the adult video magazine show, "Talking Blue", and her own line of adult films. She has just recently started her own video production company, titled, "Britco Pictures". She can currently be seen in the new George Michaels music video on MTV.

On How We Met: by Dave Michaels

"We were currently wrapping up our second season of Talking Blue, when we were introduced to this gorgeous, vibrant blonde. She was relatively new to adult films and was looking to do something a little different. We had barely met, when we had decided to give her a shot at being a co-host on the show and try her hand at interviewing the performers in adult films at the Los Angeles VSDA show. We had done this with other performers before with interviewing duties of the adult performers, but Brittany wanted to try something different. She wanted to interview the mainstream performers on the "legit" side of the convention. After a little coaching on our part, she "jumped into the deep end" and gave it a crack. It was here that we first realized what a talent we had discovered. She not only could hold her own with the talent, but could come up with spontaneous questions and answers and be very witty in her responses as well. We knew she would turn out to be a great asset to the Talking Blue show, and quickly caught on to the behind the scenes of television production in no time. Over the course of two years, she grew in her abilities on the show, producing her own segments on the series and quickly becoming a popular addition to the Talking Blue crew.
