L'Argent DVD Description: "The corrupting power of money, the cancerous spread of evil resulting from its use, and man's eventual redemption from its sins are the themes in director Bresson's thoughtful Marxist fable. Based on a short story by Tolstoy, the film – shot in Bresson's unique style of ascetic narrative – follows the tragic course of Yvon, a young truck driver accused of counterfeiting. Fired from his job as a result of a set-up, he is eventually sent to prison, where he is incarcerated for years. Losing his wife and child, Yvon finally rebels and purges himself of his rage."
